Our flock of 27 ewes are primarily Dorper, a breed that has been specifically bred to excel on pasture. The sheep are 100% grass fed. We practice intensive grazing during the growing season and move the ewes and lambs to fresh pasture daily. Much of our spring and early summer grazing happens between the rows of our chestnut trees.
Our lambs are born in April and are ready for processing in October when they reach 85-100lbs.
We are planning to have lambs processed at RRR Meat Processing in Buckly MI, a USDA inspected facility located just south of Travers City, MI. When purchasing a lamb you will be able to choose the cuts desired.
Finished cuts can be picked up at RRR Meat Processing or at Ox Heights, Rogers City MI.
Whole lambs will typically yield around 30lbs of packaged meat.
What is included in that price:
Price of Lamb $250
Deposit of $100 will reserve you lamb with balance due prior to transport of lambs (October 2, 2023)
Because we are processing at a USDA inspected facility, we can offer individual cuts (Chops, Leg, Ground, etc). Prices will be based on current market value.
